There are four training institutes in Tripura: One State Panchayat Resource Centre (SPRC) and three (03)  PRTIs, located at Agartala, Udaipur, Ambassa and Kumarghat respectively. Training Programmes are being conducted in these training institutes under the control of the Officers of Panchayat Department. The SPRC Tripura, located in Agartala, is managed by the Director of Panchayat Department, while  the  other three (3) PRTIs are overseen by the concerned District Panchayat Officers.

The SPRC,Tripura erstwhile PRTI A.D. Nagar, Agartala is the oldest among all the four PRTIs and was established in the year 1961. It serves as the state level nodal training Centre for the R.D. (Panchayat) Department, also covering training for  both West and Sepahijala Districts. The construction of a 70 seated Hostel and New Auditorium with a 700 seat capacity with modern amenities covering almost 1878 sq m.

The PRTI at Udaipur was the second institute established after SPRC Tripura, inaugurated on 24th December 2012. The total area of the PRTI premises is approximately 4317 sq m. The training activities for Gomati and South Districts of Tripura fall under the responsibility of PRTI Udaipur.

The PRTI Kumarghat was inaugurated on 1st February 2014, covering a total area of approximately 2088.66 sq m. It primarily handles training for elected representatives and functionaries from Unakoti and North Districts of Tripura.

The PRTI Ambassa is the newest institute on the list, inaugurated on 19th September 2014. It covers a total area of approximately 1596 sq m  and manages training activities for both Dhalai and Khowai Districts.

All the four institutes have hostels for trainees, dining halls, large auditoriums, computer labs, conference halls, board rooms, classrooms and other modern amenities to ensure efficient and effective training delivery.
